FITZNESS Training
Tips
For
the Competitive Kick boxer and Martial Artist
by FITZ

Make a habit of exhaling with every punch and kick.
This will help to make breathing a habit, so you can concentrate on
other things.
Practice fancy footwork. The harder you are to catch, the harder you
are to knock out!
Hang a rope and practice slipping under it. The less often your head
is in one place, the more difficult is to hit. Can you imagine ever
hitting a bull's-eye on a moving target?
Devote time to strength training.... Might as well be as strong as
possible in your weight division!
Dedicate time to watching both poor and excellent fighters, you'll
be able to soak in why you should and should not do certain things.
Many fighters punch and kick hard, very few are strategic and
sneaky. Spend time working on the intellectual part of your game.
Train with intensity. Pressure on the day of your fight or
tournament can eat up
lots of energy; you can only perform to the level you've been
conditioned to.
Drink 4 ounces of water for every round of training.
When dealing with the person you've chosen as your instructor/coach,
“Yes Ma'am” or “Yes Sir” is a good answer.
In order to kick high, practice kicking high. In order to punch hard
... practice punching hard! Etc. Never forget.... When you are not
training, your opponent is!
